Tomorrow night, my undergraduate Virginia Tech comes to Greenville to play East Carolina University, where I received a masters degree. I’ve now lived in Greenville for 11 years, but still have Virginia Tech season tickets and am a rabid Hokies fan.
Obviously, I’ve been getting some noise this week from the ECU faithful as the game draws closer. This has involved the unfortunate responsibility of authoring this nonsense and being consulted about the inclusion of a “spirit card” in the Thursday newspaper, essentially a single broadsheet page that touts the Pirates and can be held up by fans at the game.
Knowing my distaste at this ridiculousness, my boss drew me this spirit card for my office. Everything about it makes me laugh.
